Adult Swim's new Mastodon video is an apocalyptic day in the neighborhood

As we reported previously, the Adult Swim Singles Program has returned to once again provide its fans with handpicked, never-before-released tracks from bands like How To Dress Well, Best Coast, and so on. And part of that collaboration involves producing videos that play to Adult Swim sensibilities—like this just-released, Mister Rogers-inspired clip for Mastodon’s “Deathbound,” an unreleased outtake from the Atlanta metal group’s Crack The Skye. Created by Authority Films, it’s an exercise in gratuitous puppet violence that makes Peter Jackson’s Meet The Feebles look positively saccharine. You can download the song (along with previous Adult Swim releases) here.
