New Orleans-based duo Caddywhompus isn’t one to go for simplicity. It’s hard to pin the band’s sound down, as Chris Rehm and Sean Hart craft songs that touch on everything from math-rock to psych to punk to freak-folk. April 14 will see the release of Odd Hours, the band’s upcoming full-length on Inflated Records, but The A.V. Club is premiering “Waiting Room” ahead of its release. The song starts with a simple psych-rock opening, but keeps building until Caddywhompus takes it into a borderline noise-punk space, raging as loud and hard as it can until the whole thing collapses around it.

Pre-orders for Odd Hours are available now.
