Eddie Vedder's next album to be performed entirely on ukulele

Eventually every rocker reaches a point where he turns reflective and feels the urge to slow it down a little and experiment, and that’s when he straps on the ukulele—or at least, that’s what Eddie Vedder is doing, as he’s announced that his second solo album, Ukulele Songs, will be recorded entirely on Hawaii’s gift to music and dudes trying to pick up beach rats everywhere. Cat Power’s Chan Marshall and Glen Hansard will assist on the album consisting of 12 original tracks and four covers, including The Everly Brothers’ “Sleepless Nights,” The Mamas And The Papas’ “Dream A Little Dream,” Pearl Jam’s own “Can’t Keep,” and “Tonight You Belong To Me,” best known as the song that seals the deal for Steve Martin and Bernadette Peters in The Jerk. You can check out the first released track, “Longing To Belong,” below. The full album arrives on May 30. On a side note, have you ever tried to play "Alive" on ukulele? It's fucking hard.
