Even Billy Campbell is done with The Killing

The recently revived The Killing is confirmed to return to AMC next year, but—in one of its signature twists involving a character no one particularly cares about—Billy Campbell's Mayor Darren Richmond won't be a part of it. Variety confirms Campbell's exit alongside Brent Sexton and Michelle Forbes, the grief-stricken parents of Rosie Larsen whose hourly spirals into tears are no longer necessary to the show, not that this ever stopped The Killing before. At this point, only Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman are expected to return, presumably spending the third season sitting glumly in their car, having a series of long, drawn-out conversations about that time they solved the Rosie Larsen murder.
