Franz Ferdinand returns with a mod-design influenced video for "Right Action"

Franz Ferdinand’s first album in four years, Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action, comes out Aug. 27 via Domino. To go along with the decidedly slick and upbeat first single, “Right Action,” now there’s a bright, psychedelic video full of mod designs and retro album cover templates. In a sort of modified lyric video, the band plays the song as words fly in with simple, brightly colored symbols to make single covers that would fit right into place 50 years ago. The video was directed by Jonas Odell, who also helmed the trippy, steampunk-esque clip for Franz Ferdinand’s breakout hit “Take Me Out” nearly a decade ago.
