Get an exclusive first look at Jolie Holland's new record, Wine Dark Sea

Jolie Holland is releasing a new record, her fifth studio effort. Wine Dark Sea isn’t due out until May 20, but A.V. Club readers can get an exclusive first glimpse at the record by viewing the clip for “Waiting For The Sun” below. The video is the perfect blend of Holland’s traditional American song stylings with more modern technology, like electricity. Though Holland worked with a slew of traditional New York jazz musicians on the record, she also collaborated with some experimental music veterans, particularly ones who’ve worked with Butch Morris, Anthony Coleman, and Steven Bernstein. The self-produced LP attempts to blend country, soul, jazz, and blues, all while staying modern and contemporary.

Fans can pre-order Wine Dark Sea now via iTunes.
