Ellen Page is barely more than an audience surrogate navigating the labyrinthine world of Inception. The complicated set of rules Christopher Nolan balanced like a house of cards requires a character that acclimates the audience and continues to inquire for more information in attempt to stave off the inevitable confusion. And given her character’s name is Ariadne, Nolan lays plain her role of helping the audience to navigate mazes. To that end, here’s a supercut of every question Page asks throughout the film, comprising over two minutes of backstory (“Why can’t you go home?”), world clarification (“What’s a kick?”), and incredulously keeping the story straight (“Whose subconscious are we going into exactly?”).
