Gambling on the premise that you might enjoy a show about survivors wandering through a post-apocalyptic zombie wasteland—only intentionally funny, and while you watch it you can also buy things—Amazon has given the official green light to that long-gestating Zombieland TV show. Above is the first promo image of the cast, the small-screen versions of Abigail Breslin, relaxed-fit Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, and Jesse Eisenberg enjoying the break from proper table manners that comes with everybody else being a flesh-eating monster. Below is the first ad, which promises, “A new dead is dawning” (a way more fun, brightly lit dead).
Zombieland will premiere at an as-yet-unannounced date, appearing simultaneously alongside Amazon’s 11 other original pilots—including the Jeffrey Tambor-starring The Onion Presents: The News, which we hear is both hilarious and mandatory—after which viewers will be asked to vote on which ones they think should continue. So think of these images as Zombieland: The Series’ campaign posters, and begin formulating judgments using the preformed opinions and deep suspicion you would apply to any candidate.
