John Larroquette will do something with robots on Almost Human

After it finally premieres in mid-November, J.J. Abrams and J.H. Wyman’s robot police series Almost Human will have one more familiar face alongside Karl Urban, Minka Kelly, Mackenzie Crook, and Lili Taylor. Night Court star John Larroquette has joined the cast in a recurring role (though he won’t show up in that two-night premiere on November 17-18). He’ll be playing “Nigel, a genius roboticist” who is “sympathetic, highly intelligent, and a bit broken.” If he’s working with the androids, he’ll probably be working with Crook’s robot technician character in some capacity. Larroquette appeared on NBC’s short-lived Deception earlier this year, but his last major role was his Tony-winning turn in the revival of How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying alongside Daniel Radcliffe.

In the meantime, Hulu has premiered the first eight, Larroquette-free minutes of the Almost Human pilot, which you can watch now.
