Johnny Depp sorry he said being photographed is like getting raped

After forgetting one of the Prime Directives of celebrity—“Don’t compare anything to rape, unless it’s actual rape, and maybe not even then”—Johnny Depp has issued an apology for statements he made to Vanity Fair comparing the exhausting chore of being constantly photographed because he's famous to a brutal act of sexual violation. Echoing Kristen Stewart’s similarly unfortunate comments to Elle last year, Depp told the magazine that when having his photograph taken “you just feel like you’re being raped somehow” for a story that was accompanied by a giant spread of Depp being, essentially, raped all over the page and also raped real big on the cover. And like Stewart, he has since realized that it probably isn’t a good idea to draw a parallel between the two: “It was a poor choice of words on my part in an effort to explain a feeling," Depp said to Fox News. "I understand there is no comparison and I am very regretful. In an effort to correct my lack of judgment, please accept my heartfelt apology." Depp has not, however, apologized for saying that he will continue making as many Pirates Of The Caribbean movies as Disney wants, just so long as they keep paying him “the stupid money.” Hey, he’s calling you stupid!
