Kim Dickens to star in a new CBS pilot that combines high school and the CIA

Sons Of Anarchy’s Kim Dickens has landed a leading role in a new CBS pilot that seeks to combine America’s two favorite past times: football and CIA operations. Red Zone will star Dickens and Anthony LaPaglia as a husband and wife who were CIA employees before moving onto more suburban pursuits in their retirement. LaPaglia plays Holden Weller, a former operative turned high school football coach/athletic director, while Dickens plays Helen Weller, a former CIA shrink who teaches psychology at the same high school. According to Deadline, the couple is “pulled back into action when a terrorist event rocks Washington, D.C., [and] forced to investigate closer to home where the next generation of terrorists is being bred.” Presumably each week they’ll have to wrap up their undercover investigations in time to make brownies for the next day’s bake sale.
