Almost 10 years after their last full-length, Texas indie rock act The Baptist Generals are putting out a new record, Jackleg Devotional To The Heart. The record, out May 21, was produced by the band and Grammy-winning engineer Stuart Sikes. (White Stripes, Cat Power) First single, “Dog That Bit You,” is available now as a download exclusively through The A.V. Club. Listen below and jam out on that late ‘90s indie rock vibe all over again.

So far, the band has just a couple of shows lined up: June 1 in Denton, Texas at Dan’s Silverleaf and June 8 in Dallas as part of the Oak Cliff Film Festival. Visitors to the 35 Denton Festival will be able to get a sneak peek at the album via a March 8 listening party at Dan’s Silverleaf.
