Listen to part of M83's score for the new post-apocalyptic Tom Cruise movie, Oblivion

M83’s tunes have always been relatively epic in scope and scale, so when the French group’s mastermind, Anthony Gonzalez, said he wanted to start scoring movies last year, it seemed like a perfect fit. Now there’s evidence of that work, as Gonzalez’s first song from the Tom Cruise post-apocalyptic vehicle Oblivion has hit the net.

The untitled, 6-minute track features Susanne Sundfør on vocals and is, as one might expect, both soaring and grand. Though the trailers for the movie have been pretty bleak so far, if this song is any indication, maybe a sad, post-war Earth really can be saved after all—in the movies, at least.
