In defiance of all conventional demographic data—or perhaps in expectation of a large Baby Boomer contingent—the 10th Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, set for the weekend of April 17th-19th, has booked Paul McCartney as one of its three headliners, along with The Killers and The Cure. McCartney will be appearing in support of his latest album Electric Arguments, the third record by The Fireman, an experimental collaboration between himself and producer Youth. Presumably, McCartney will be digging into his back catalog as well.
Other major acts among the 130-plus performing include Morrissey, Franz Ferdinand, My Bloody Valentine, Leonard Cohen, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and whatever remains of Amy Winehouse. Here’s the complete line-up:
