Mister Heavenly

The A.V. Club talks to—and plays Bozo’s Grand Prize Game with—the indie upstarts (and touring bassist Michael Cera)

As far as bands go, Mister Heavenly is pretty new. And still, for some not-so-mysterious reason, the band is getting a whole lot of press attention. Deservedly so, of course, because even though the group’s only just released two songs, it’s still pretty damn ripping.

The A.V. Club caught up with Joe, Ryan (“Honus”), and Nick Heavenly—as well as some guy named Michael Cera, who’s on tour with them playing bass—and talked about Kuma’s, their favorite song by a Chicago band, and their favorite song by the band Chicago.

After that, the band members challenged each other to a rollicking game of Bozo’s Grand Prize Game, for lovely prizes purchased at the Joong Boo Market.
