NBC picks up Anne Heche comedy to series, feeds your growing fears it will cancel everything you love

NBC has picked up its second new comedy series, without having picked up any of its seven comedy series on the bubble, thereby creating the fear we just planted in your heads right now that the network might entirely clean house and start over. The new project is an Anne Heche vehicle called Save Me, which is apparently about how Heche comes to think she’s channeling God. The network picked up the Matthew Perry vehicle Go On two weeks ago. As per The Hollywood Reporter (which has more news on the deal), in Save Me, “Heche stars as a woman in a broken marriage who transforms into a version of herself and creates miracles along the way.” Well! That certainly sounds better than Community, 30 Rock, or Parks And Recreation! Network upfronts, when final decisions on all cancellations and renewals will be made, are next week.
