New teaser for Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. season two has bombs, beards

Marvel’s show with the Most Annoying T.I.T.L.E. is returning September 23, and ABC wants to get you excited about it with 30 seconds of vague voiceover narration, shadowy alleyways punctuated by explosions, and Brett Dalton’s agent-turned-traitor Grant Ward with a beard!

Here’s the beard. We are okay with it.

But aside from the beard—and a quick shot that shows Ward in a prison cell, making puppy eyes at Chloe Bennett’s Skye—very little of substance is revealed. The only shots of FitzSimmons (the brainy pair of scientists played by Iain De Caestecker and Elizabeth Henstridge) is the two of them treading water in the ocean from season one and a quick shot of them standing at lab tables, which could be any time, any place. There’s also a lot of Ming-Na Wen’s Melinda May kicking people in the chest or brandishing a gun, and Agent Coulson staring out a window. Plus, it appears that Skye has, regrettably, chosen to embrace bangs.
