New Tenacious D album, Rize Of The Fenix, coming in May

2006 was a long time ago, and our memory of the film is a little fuzzy, but we're pretty sure that Tenacious D In The Pick Of Destiny was a universally adored box-office smash that spawned a mega-selling soundtrack album. (Or maybe it totally flopped.) Things have been mostly quiet in the D camp since then, though the duo recently was back on stage supporting the Foo Fighters for dates in Australia. Now comes news that Tenacious D will release its first album in six years, Rize Of The Fenix, in May. No other details to share at the moment, but coupled with the recent Darkness news, we're planning on 2012 being a stellar year for funny hard-rock records. [via PrefixMag]
