Nine Inch Nails creeping bleakly back into the studio (someday)

Nine Inch Nails fans still moping around after the group's 2009 hiatus have a reason to smile (unless they just prefer moping). In an interview with Rolling Stone, frontman Trent Reznor said that the group will definitely record some new music in the near future, and may even reunite for some live performances—though the specifics going forward are a little vague.

Reznor has remained busy since the conclusion of the band's farewell tour, most notably writing the Oscar-winning score to David Fincher's The Social Network with Atticus Ross. He also wrote soundtracks for The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2, in addition to recording an EP with his other band, the underscore-happy How To Destroy Angels_. And while fans may have to wait a while for anything new from NIN, How To Destroy Angels_' EP, An Omen, will be released Nov. 13, with a full-length recording to follow by next spring.
