October 21, 2015 is the future day that Doc Brown and Marty McFly visit in Back To The Future Part II to prevent Marty Jr. from going to jail. (Although if changing the future is no big deal, why didn’t Doc just make sure that Marty never hit that Rolls Royce?) However, here in this alternate 2015 where ’90s nostalgia is huge and hoverboards still don’t exist, October 21 will mark the release of a new Back To The Future documentary, Back In Time.
Released by Gravitas Ventures, Back In Time is “at its heart, a look at the very real impact the Back To The Future movies have had on our culture,” according to its official website. In addition to utilizing footage shot at a Back To The Future fan convention in London, director Jason Aron and his crew wrangled interviews with Robert Zemeckis, Bob Gale, and Michael J. Fox for the project. The film will delve into not only the legacy of the series but also the making of the three Future films, touching on the casting of and firing of Eric Stoltz and hopefully the real story of how “Nick Of Time” ended up in Brewster’s Millions and not on the Back To The Future soundtrack.
Back In Time will be released to select theaters as well as VOD and Blu-ray on October 21.
