Reminder: Riddley Walker in April. Plus, call for reader suggestions

We've said it before and we'll say it again: This month, starting Monday, April 26, Wrapped Up In Books will be discussing Riddley Walker, a post-apocalyptic novel by Turtle Diary author Russell Hoban. It's a little harder to find than other books we've done in the past — in particular, you can't get it super-fast from Amazon — so we recommend dropping everything and tracking down a copy now.

We're working on a pick for May, and will announce it soon. But in the meantime, we're coming back around to the readers' choice slot on the schedule, likely in either June or July. (Our last reader-suggested book was John Crowley's Little, Big.) So here's your forum for suggesting books you think we should try. Some general guidelines: We're looking for modern fiction, post 1960 or so. (We're considering non-fiction, but we haven't done one yet and it'd really have to be the right book, something with a lot of grist for discussion.) We prefer selections that aren't 700 pages long, that lend themselves to discussion and analysis, and that are maybe off the beaten track enough that they haven't already been book-clubbed to death. Apart from that, sky's the limit. And yes, you can suggest books you've suggested before — given only one reader slot to date, obviously a lot of good suggestions didn't get picked, and we could stand a reminder. Let's hear em!
