Riot Fest is getting its own pop-up restaurant

Last year, a Saved By The Bell-themed pop-up restaurant called Saved By The Max opened in Chicago, prompting long lines, countless Instagram pics, and at least one engagement. But all things must pass—even nostalgic ones—and so The Max is moving on to Los Angeles. In its place, though, the team behind Saved By The Max is pairing with Riot Fest to open what is perhaps the world’s first music festival-themed pop-up restaurant, Riot Feast. Andrew WK broke the news on YouTube this morning:

Like the festival itself, the Riot Feast is based around the idea of a punk rock carnival, with turn-of-the-century circus-inspired decor and a special 10 p.m. VIP seating where, as a press release puts it, ”the Riot Feast transforms into a carnival speakeasy, with a limited bar menu and circus freaks drinking alongside patrons.” (Speaking of the passage of time, Riot Feast will be located right across the alley from the former location of Earwax Cafe, a carnival-themed restaurant that was once a Wicker Park staple and is now a Doc Martens store.) Saved By The Max executive chef Brian Fisher (also of Schwa and Entente) and Riot Fest’s own Michael “Riot Mike” Petryshyn will serve as ringleaders for the whole wild rumpus, along with Saved By The Max’s Steve Harris, Derek Berry, and Zack Eastman.

Riot Feast will be open Wednesday-Sunday, with regular seatings at 6 p.m. and 8.p.m. and the aforementioned carnival experience at 10 p.m. And after-hours bar menu will also be served on Fridays and Saturdays starting at 10 p.m. It opens on July 9 and will remain active through September. Tickets for either GA (communal dining) or VIP (reserved elevated tables) seatings will be available starting tomorrow, June 9, at 11:00 a.m. CT You can find those at this link.
