Finally, 50 years after the release of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, The Beatles are going to get some recognition. According to Rolling Stone, that album is getting a big, celebratory reissue in honor of its anniversary, and it will be available in several different packages for people who simply cannot have enough alternate versions of Sgt. Pepper songs. On the low end, there will be a straightforward CD version, featuring a new stereo mix and all of the same tracks as the version of Sgt. Pepper you probably have already. There will also be a deluxe edition available digitally, on CD, or on vinyl, and it will include that new stereo mix on one disc/LP and a batch of alternate takes on another.

For the hardcore Sgt. Pepper fans, there will be a “super deluxe” box set that includes six discs and a 144-page hardcover book that details the history of the album and features a new introduction from Paul McCartney and producer Giles Martin. The first of the six discs will be the stereo remaster, three will contain alternate recordings from the Sgt. Pepper sessions, the fourth will have unreleased mono mixes of several songs and the original album’s mono mix, and discs five and six will include surround-sound mixes and promo videos for multiple tracks.

The sets will be available on May 26.
