Someone recreated The Temple of Time from Zelda in Unreal Engine 4

Nintendo has been making a lot of headlines lately, but not the good kind. But not even heavy corporate losses or boneheaded responses to requests for basic equality can dim fans’ ardor for the company’s works. Hence this video, built in Unreal Engine 4 by animator Michael Eurek, showing a walkthrough of a gorgeous recreation of The Temple of Time from The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time, Nintendo’s 1998 masterpiece for the Nintendo 64.

The slow pans and reverent remix of the original temple theme do a great job of recreating the feeling of awe the Temple’s 1998 blocky, low-res incarnation once evoked, and, as the camera glides through the slowly opening Door Of Time toward the Master Sword, it’s hard not to forget the company’s many mistakes, if only for a moment, and just let the nostalgic thrill wash over you.
