Steven Spielberg's Lincoln adds Tommy Lee Jones, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, other actors with fewer names

Steven Spielberg continues to barrel onward toward a fall start date for Lincoln, his biopic of the 16th president that follows the controversial historical theory that he was not, in fact, a ruthless vampire slayer, but just a boring lawyer from Illinois. As previously reported, Daniel Day-Lewis will take the lead, with Sally Field playing his manic-depressive wife Mary Todd, and now Dreamworks has announced that Tommy Lee Jones has signed on to play Thaddeus Stevens—the fiery Republican leader who pushed for the Civil War and was often given to making flashy, Tommy Lee Jones-like speeches—and Joseph Gordon-Levitt will play Robert Todd Lincoln, the longest-living survivor of the cosmically doomed Lincoln children. Also on board in as-yet unnamed roles: Hal Holbrook, James Spader, John Hawkes, Tim Blake Nelson, Bruce McGill, and Joseph Cross. Supposedly this list does not include the actor who will play John Wilkes Booth, despite the presence of John Hawkes.
