The Critics' Choice Television Awards winners: A lot of the usual suspects, plus Fringe's John Noble

The results are in on the first-ever Critics’ Choice Television Awards, and while they didn’t quite live up to the promise of those heady early hours, where it seemed like all the underdogs would finally have their day, you can’t fault most of these. Yes, for all their hype as another new alternative to the Emmys, they picked a lot of old familiars—Mad Men, Modern Family, The Daily Show, Jim Parsons, Tina Fey—which, as good as those shows and most of those people are, isn’t all that exciting. But hey, they recognized John Noble’s even-more-outstanding-than-usual work on this past season of Fringe, hopefully paved the way for more trophies to come for Justified’s Margo Martindale, and after many years of Emmy nominations, Neil Patrick Harris finally got an award for How I Met Your Mother. Plus, Dirty Jobs’ Mike Rowe now has something to show for all the times he flopped around in pig shit and stuff. Here’s the complete list of winners. [via TV Line]
