The next season of Eastbound And Down will definitely be its last

After persuading Danny McBride and Jody Hill to produce a fourth season of Eastbound And Down despite their many, many, many assertions that they’d like to move on, HBO has accepted that the upcoming eight episodes will definitely be the show’s last. The network announced today that Eastbound’s final season will bow on Sept. 29, with Stephen Merchant’s previously reported new show Hello Ladies batting leadoff for the further adventures of Kenny Powers—which will pick up several years later in North Carolina, where Powers is “living the American Dream with his family.” Nevertheless, presumably he’s still acting like kind of a dick, otherwise there isn’t much of a show.
