Watch a refigured Game Of Thrones intro continue the trend of taking contemporary dramas back to 1995

Last week, The A.V. Club reported that YouTube user GoesToEleven had set in motion a trend of reimagining what today’s hit dramas would be like had they been made in 1995 with his renditions of the opening credits to Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead. While there have undoubtedly been billions of lackluster attempts to recreate the magic since, the fantastic Game Of Thrones intro that surfaced earlier this week deserves some recognition. Set to Queen’s “I Want It All,” the video casts the show as a daytime fantasy-adventure romp akin to Xena: Warrior Princess and Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, complete with jousting and ambiguously arboreal shooting locations. It’s so tonally spot-on you can practically hear the crappy dialogue.
