Waka Flocka Flame and Kel Mitchell made a rap about orange soda

Waka Flocka Flame’s favorite Nickelodeon show was, justifiably, the delightful sitcom Kenan & Kel, in which Kel Mitchell frequently sang of his devotion to orange soda. MTV thinks Flocka resembles Mitchell, so the network enlisted the two to separately record parts for a short “Orange Soda” rap remix for Retromania: Hip-Hop. Having Mitchell and Flocka in the studio at different times creates some arrhythmic moments, and it’s not much more than rehashing that Kel loved him some orange soda, but it’s still funny for Flocka to rap into a two-liter bottle and reminisce about one of the great Nickelodeon classics—even if it’s a little disheartening that Mitchell is falling back on orange soda while Kenan Thompson has been on SNL for more than a decade.
