Newswire Alec Baldwin Wants Out Of 30 Rock

In a pre-taped interview airing on tomorrow's The View, Alec Baldwin says that he wants to quit acting to focus on the "problem of divorced parents and their children," adding that he asked NBC to let him out of his 30 Rock contract so that the hundreds who work on it wouldn't be "hurt by the situation"--referring to the fallout over that infamous leaked voicemail. He also said that if he "never acted again [he] couldn't care less." A source close to him indicates that Baldwin intends to fulfill his obligations to 30 Rock (which was recently renewed for a second season), although an NBC network spokesperson said she didn't know how many seasons his contract covered.
