Anchorman 2 in the works?
You should probably take this with a big ol' grain of blog salt, but during a recent press conference to promote the awesome new The Foot Fist Way, movie blog Collider had a chance meeting with Adam McKay where the director dropped a big, musky bombshell: A planned sequel to Anchorman, which he and Will Ferrell hope to do in "like two years." Asked if he was "100%", McKay responded:
We've had our ups and downs with Will Ferrell comedies over the years, but we'll gladly punch anyone right in the ovaries who doesn't agree that the man's best work has been with McKay (and we've heard good things about Step Brothers as well), so needless to say we're a little excited. OK...I'm excited. Go fuck yourself, San Diego. [Thanks to Dark Horizons.]
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're dying to do it. Unless we can't get the cast together, which is always kind of a tricky thing. But, I think, with that cast we're all friends, so yeah, we want to do it."
