Check out the trailer for Wes Anderson's Fantastic Mr. Fox
Today seems to be the day for new trailers from well-liked cinematic auteurs. Wes Anderson's stop-motion-animated adaptation of Roald Dahl's Fantastic Mr. Fox has arrived in trailer form at last, and from first glance it looks like Anderson's ported his sensibility over fully into the animated realm. Whether that's a good thing is an open question. There's already been some grumbling that the animation looks too Rankin-Bass retro, and some have speculated that because Anderson's film will be opening the less-prestigious BFI London film festival in late October rather than playing Venice, Toronto or New York that it must be of questionable quality. To me though, this trailer looks charming and funny. Bring on the deadpan whimsy!
