Newswire Chris Elliott to guest on How I Met Your Mother as...

Entertainment Weekly's intrepid Michael Ausiello has some casting news concerning the A.V. Club-favorite sitcom How I Met Your Mother. Chris Elliott will guest in a November episode as the dad of Lily, the character played by Alyson Hannigan. Will it be a happy reunion? Apparently not. Ausiello again:

I’m told the episode will feature childhood flashbacks that will shed light on Lily’s very troubled relationship with her father. Word is the dude was a big-time loser/crook.

So there you have it. We're pro anything that involves getting Elliott more airtime so we're looking forward to this.
