This is an open thread. That means we’re not going to be writing our usual full review, but we thought you might like the opportunity to chat about the show anyway. Use this space for all your usual commenting shenanigans, and we’ll drop in if we have something to say about the episode in question.
These are strange times for Monday Night Football: Not only is the NFL’s premier broadcast in its third week without its signature, obnoxious fanfare from Hank Williams, Jr., but tonight’s matchup between the Miami Dolphins and the New York Jets carries almost none of the weight expected from one of the most storied rivalries in the AFC East. Both teams come into the game with losing records, with the Dolphins suffering from a winless streak which stretches back to the last time they met the Jets—in December of 2010. A loss on MNF tonight wouldn’t be the most embarrassing moment in franchise history (it’ll always have Ace Ventura, Pet Detective), but it just might contribute to the inevitable firing of Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano. Which leaves us with one question: Are you ready for some failure?
