Mannequin Men cover "Nuttin' For Christmas"
-Chicago band Mannequin Men initially considered performing John Lennon's "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)" for Holiday Undercover, but changed their minds to this '50s chestnut after the Lennon song proved a bit out of reach. That's probably a good thing, since "Nuttin' For Christmas" is something of a lost classic, hopefully to be resurrected here. Written by Sid Tepper and Roy C. Bennett--who also wrote more than 40 songs that Elvis Presley recorded--the song was a big novelty hit in the mid-'50s. This version makes it sound like a long-lost Clash song. Mannequin Men's latest is self-titled. Rock it.
