Marvel establishes TV division, hires Jeph Loeb to run it
As part of its Galactus-style plot to devour the whole of American entertainment, Marvel has established a TV division to bring its characters and stories to the small screen in both live-action and animated form, appointing Heroes and Smallville writer-producer Jeph Loeb to run it. Loeb’s ascent may come as a surprise to anyone who witnessed his spectacular flameout on Heroes, but there’s no denying he knows (genuine) comic books, having racked up four Eisner Awards and written for everyone from Batman to Spider-Man to Captain America. And his role as executive vice president and head of television for Marvel should ensure that whatever characters make the transition, they’ll always be buried under tons of expository narration.
