Matt Damon loves Michael Douglas’ pianist in Steven Soderbergh’s Liberace biopic
Here’s a piece of news sure to stir the imagination: Matt Damon (of Jason Bourne book-beatings fame) and Michael Douglas (sometime alligator wrestler and all-around manly man) are lovers at long last. Steven Soderbergh, always jonesing for Damon, has tapped the actor to play Liberace’s longtime lover, with Michael Douglas set to wear the furs and jewelry. E! Online says the film is tentatively scheduled to begin shooting next summer, and also reports that Michael Douglas will in fact do his own singing for the role. The news sounds undeniably Oscar baity, or maybe just campy as hell. And I am sure we are all in agreement that a Douglas and Damon lip lock just isn’t quite the idea of visual cotton candy that Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal were. Douglas and Damon: Surprise us!
