Newswire NBC moves Kings to Saturday. Checkmate?

long it may not reign

Good news for fans of NBC's offbeat Biblical drama Kings: the network today reaffirmed its commitment to airing the remainder of the series' 14-episode first season. The bad news? The show has been pulled from its Sunday timeslot and is being buried on Saturday. Kings won't air at all this Sunday, but will return Saturday April 18th at 8 p.m. eastern to play out the string. Don't expect a second season, but do expect Kings' reputation to grow in the years to come. It's far from perfect, but between Ian McShane's commanding performance as a modern-day monarch and the way the show freely mixes ancient prophecy and modern tabloid culture, it's unlike anything else on TV right now. Enjoy it while it lasts.
