R.I.P. Pat Hingle
CNN is reporting that Pat Hingle, a veteran character actor, has died at the age of 84. A consistent presence in film and on television since the '50s, Hingle's most memorable roles played against his genial appearance, particularly his work in Hang 'Em High and a dark turn in the 1990 noir The Grifters. Hingle's most high profile work came from the series of Batman films launched in 1989 in which he played Commissioner Gordon.
