The A.V. Club has a smattering of local sites, and every day, writers in these locales are posting about music, films, and other events and news happening in their cities. Whether you live in one of these cities or elsewhere, there’s plenty of great local stuff that’s worth a look. Here’s a round-up of what caught our attention this week.
• Chicago was enthralled with the trailer for Drew Peterson: Untouchable, the Lifetime movie that stars Rob Lowe as Drew Peterson, the former Bolingbrook, Illinois, police officer accused of murdering his third wife and suspected in his fourth wife’s disappearance.
• Milwaukee was equally enthralled by Will Ferrell’s ad for Old Milwaukee beer filmed atop the city’s Pabst Theatre. (Ferrell had previously filmed commercials in Davenport, Iowa.)
• After Tim Tebow’s latest act of divine heroism, Denver waded into the furor over the divisive quarterback.
• Indie rockers All Tiny Creatures shared a revved-up cover of Mannheim Steamroller’s “Deck The Halls” with Madison.
• Toronto looked back through rose-colored glasses at Our Lady Peace's 1997 LP Clumsy.
• The Twin Cities are apparently really, really insecure. Jerks.
• Philly looked back on the year in comments, including the good, the bad, and the ridonkulous NKOTB fans.
