Summer Glau added to Dollhouse cast
Since Dollhouse received an improbable second-season renewal on FOX last spring, creator Joss Whedon has been cherry-picking talent from cancelled or retired shows to fill out an all-star roster. This morning comes news that Summer Glau, who played the ass-kicking government-programmed River in Whedon’s brilliant sci-fi/western series Firefly, will appear on Dollhouse in the recurring role of Bennett, an employee who shares a past with Eliza Dushku’s Echo. Glau, newly liberated from the cancelled Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles, will join a cast that includes such ringers as Battlestar Galactica’s Jamie Barber and Michael Hogan, Angel’s Alexis Denisof, and the excellent character actor Keith Carradine.
Dollhouse is scheduled to return on September 25th—and yes, Dollhouse blog followers, I will review (the mind-blowing) “Epitaph One” some time before then. In the meantime, here’s Glau in action, from the bar fight in Serenity:
