The Dandy Warhols cover Eddie Cochran
The Dandy Warhols have been around for a long time, cranking out solidly psychedelic records year after year, poking their heads out for the occasional hit ("Bohemian Like You") and fantastic documentary (Dig! casts frontman Courtney Taylor-Taylor as the villain in a battle of credibility with The Brian Jonestown Massacre). The band just released its eighth album, This Machine; here, Taylor-Taylor and fellow Dandy Brent DeBoer delivered us a melancholy version of Eddie Cochran's much-covered 1958 classic "Summertime Blues," which tied in perfectly to the location, overlooking Chicago's Wrigley Field, home of baseball's most lovable losers. Rather than shooting on the field (as if they would've let us!), we filmed from a rooftop across the way, courtesy of the super nice folks at Ivy League Baseball Club, which you can rent for private parties and Cubs-watching fun. Enjoy.
