While interviewing Thurston Moore, Pitchfork learned that Starbucks will be releasing a new Sonic Youth anthology CD. The disc will feature one yet-to-be-recorded original song plus a bunch of old tunes selected by celebrity fans like Jeff Tweedy, Beck, Marc Jacobs, Portia de Rossi, and Michelle Williams. Says Thurston (with a laugh), "Starbucks is the new record store, right?"
