HOLIDAY SALE AT THE ONION STORE

Artist A Very Merry Unauthorized Children's Scientology Pageant

A Red Orchid Theatre’s first holiday offering, A Very Merry Unauthorized Children’s Scientology Pageant returns after debuting in 2008, which means there’s another chance to take a break from all the theater skewed toward Christianity and Charles Dickens. Directed by Steve Wilson, a cast predominately composed of pre-teens satirically—but factually—recounts the origin of one of the world’s most misunderstood religions. Everything from Tom Cruise to auditing to what L. Ron Hubbard’s first initial stands for are dredged up, and while the musical won’t change anyone’s minds about Scientology, it will at least entertain while being harmlessly provocative.
