A.V. Club: Best of the Decade

Artist Abe Vigoda

L.A.’s Abe Vigoda not only has an excellent name, but its music is weighty enough to sustain looking past its moniker. Hailing from the same punk scene that produced No Age and Mika Miko, the self-proclaimed “tropical punk-rock” band melds bouncy percussive elements with jarring guitar riffs and infectious, snarling vocals. The group appears here behind last summer’s breakout release, Skeleton, and this year’s Reviver EP, for which it’s been on a seemingly endless tour.
