Algernon Cadwallader
Quirkily named after an obscure politician in Bucks County history, Philly’s Algernon Cadwallader is a living testament to just how influential mid-’90s emo pioneers like Cap’n Jazz truly are. While early EPs may have established its sound (a concentration of spastic yelps and spontaneous guitar noodlings), 2008’s Some Kind Of Cadwallader and the recently released Parrot Flies are evidence of the band’s dedicated basement following.
