Artist Alice Peacock

  • Alice Peacock

Alice Peacock is a White Bear, Minnesota, transplant who now calls Chicago home, but the singer-songwriter’s sound is more Music Row than anything else. On 2009’s Love Remains, buoyant guitar strums usually anchor pensive slide-guitar strains while well-worn subject matters are dragged into the forefront in her Sheryl Crow-like voice. “I’d like to get stoned / never come home / I’d like to be free,” Peacock sings in Love’s opener “All About Me,” and the rest of the glossy album maintains that defiant, carefree attitude that gives off a familiar, welcoming vibe—perfect for sitting back and cracking open a beer.
