Artist Amazing Baby

  • Amazing Baby

Already awash in manic hype (and attendant backlash) thanks to its association with schoolmates MGMT, Brooklyn’s Amazing Baby boasts a similarly now sound that flips through staticky channels broadcasting acid rock, electro, wailing prog, and stomping, Suede-esque Britpop. These 21st-century boys have the glam posturing down pat—and indeed, singer William Roan has been known to let a Marc Bolan tic or two creep into his sighing, starry-eyed vocals. The group’s debut full-length, Rewild, released this summer, is more than just posturing, though. Tightly well-wrought enough to fill the needs of power-pop fans, it also dips often into Pink Floyd's spacier territory to add a healthy flavoring of psychedelia on songs like "Invisible Palace."
