Amy Millan

As a musician hailing from Toronto, it's perhaps de rigueur that Amy Millan has contributed to the loose-knit Broken Social Scene collective. But she's had a higher profile as one of the singers in indie-pop quintet Stars, where her understated vocals provide a good grounding element against fellow singer Torquil Campbell's melodramatic inclinations. She's also shown a love for somber, starkly beautiful alt-country in her solo work, first in 2006's Honey From The Tombs and the new, sad, sleepy, and splendid Masters Of The Burial, which features guest work from BSS's Leslie Feist.
