Andrew Jackson Jihad’s list of ex-members grows with each album and every tour. The Phoenix band’s lineup is in a constant state of mutation, with only its bare-bones acoustic folk-punk resisting change. Fortunately for fans, this jaunt marks the act’s first full band tour, instead of just an acoustic duet hoedown. AJJ lovingly wears on ears, taking musical cues from fellow anarcho-pop-punkers This Bike Is A Pipe Bomb and Defiance, Ohio. It’s apt, then, that the uber-political group runs in the same DIY circles as its musical brethren, playing everywhere from basements to cowboy bars. The group’s latest record, Knife Man, combines party-rock riffs with plenty of Arizona angst against discrimination, homelessness, and violence.
